If ever there was a true mic drop embodied as a couple, it would be Katie and Conley. Them and their wedding.
From the moment I started the coordination process with Katie and Conley, it was apparent that partying was high on the agenda. However, that is not to discredit the incredibly flawless ceremony we had before the dancing began.
Katie had done an incredible job formulating their design and sourcing their decor that once I got involved, it was simply bringing that vision to life. And with a ceremony time of 2:00pm, it was no small feat to make it all come together seamlessly. Katie took the entire design to the next level by fusing together elegant table decor and florals along with a festival style dance party that made the whole event feel like a perfect reflection of the two of them.
They decided on an early ceremony to ensure, no dancing got left behind.
From the moment guests arrived, the vibe was unmistakable: this was going to be a party. The first act of the event was their tear soaked sentimental vows during their personal ceremony, then we moved to cocktail hour where the drinks and laughter flowed. After cocktail hour we welcomed guests into the amazing two peak tidewater tent where the a classic black-and-white checked floor was the focal point. We had guest standing on their feet while the welcomed the newly weds into the tent with "Tighten It up" by DRAMA playing. Needless to say, dance party started roughly by 4pm. The evening progressed with a delicious meal provided by one of my absolute favorites; Horsewood Catering
After dinner and a group pie cutting, the night deepened, and so did the sparkle — literally. Phase two of the party shimmered into view as guests found their way to the glitter bar. And when we say glitter bar, we mean an actual stash of magical shimmer paste, championed by the ever-dazzling Katie. Like a glitter fairy godmother, she zipped around making sure no one left un-bedazzled.
Just when you thought things might wind down, the party simply evolved. Once the tent time was up, the celebration spilled into the nearby amphitheater, where a silent disco awaited. With headphones on and beats pumping in multiple channels, it became a choose-your-own-adventure type of party. There was also a costume closet to explore (because of course there was), a cozy speakeasy tent for quieter convos and cocktail sipping, and — perhaps most importantly — late night pizza for the win.
The energy was too good, the company too radiant, the vibes too immaculate to call it a night. So they didn’t. The Landwehrs threw a party that bridged day to night to morning, and reminded us the best weddings dance to their own beat.
